A TOP author is to visit Basildon as part of the Essex Book Festival.
Number one bestseller Kimberley Chambers will appear at Basildon Library in March.
The author, who writes East End crime thrillers, will discuss her latest book – titled Backstabber – in which two respected villains join forces but start receiving mysterious packages and threats.
Ms Chambers says she left school with ’virtually no exams’ and worked as a market trader, a DJ and then a minicab driver.
Then one day, at age 38, she sat behind the wheel of her cab and ’began to wonder exactly where my life was going’.
She decided to write a novel, penned three chapters in two weeks and ’discovered my vocation in life’.
Backstabber will be her 12th published novel.
Tickets to the event – at 7.30pm on Thursday, March 23 – cost £7, or £5 for visitors aged 27 or under.
They are available by phone on 01206 573948, or online at www.essexbookfestival.org.uk/event/backstabber.
