POLICE have appealed for information after a Purfleet man’s jaw was broken in a hit-and-run.

A 20-year-old man was hit by a small, silver car – make and model unknown – as he crossed Third Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope, at 1.30am. The driver failed to stop.

The incident occurred on December 1 but Essex Police did not appeal for witnesses until February 8.

Officers urged anyone with information to call PC Frankie Pallett on 101 or email [email protected].
