RESIDENTS in Barking and Dagenham are running out of time to nominate their choice for the borough’s Women’s Empowerment Awards 2017.

The ceremony, which is part of Women’s Empowerment Month, acknowledges the achievements of unsung heroines who work in the borough.

Councillor Sade Bright, cabinet member for Equalities and Cohesion said: “Our borough has a history of incredible women which continues today and they need to be celebrated.

“The awards provide us with a great opportunity to recognise the amazing work that our borough’s women, young and old, do for the community.”

The awards, now in their third year, include categories such as ’business woman of the year’ and ’female volunteer of the year’.
