INGATESTONE mum and entertainer, Denyse Donnell, is staging a variety cabaret show for a small charity with a very big heart.
Little Hearts Matter is a national charity dedicated to helping parents and families who are faced with the daunting diagnosis of a child with half a working heart and it is a cause that is very close to Denyse and her family.
When they were dealt the blow at a routine 20 week scan that their child had a heart defect, Denyse and husband Jim were devastated and left with questions about what the future may hold for them and their unborn child. However, Little Hearts Matter were there to help and inform them at every turn.
Not knowing if their baby would need open heart surgery within days, possibly even hours of being born, their little girl came safely into the world in October 2014 and although surgery is still likely for Sydnee, hopefully it is a very long way off.
To raise money for Little Hearts Matter, Denyse is staging two Big Hearts Valentine’s Cabaret shows on Saturday, February 18, at Ingatestone Community Hall, in High Street, Ingatestone.
With a fantastic line up of vocalists, choirs, poetry readings, acrobatics from the Little Stars Circus, family friendly burlesque from the New City Girls WI and comedy antics from the brilliantly funny Paul Sweeney, the Big Hearts Cabaret’s second annual event promises to be even bigger than before.
All of the acts have volunteered their time for two performances, with a matinee performance at 2.30pm including afternoon tea, and the evening performance at 7.30pm including a sharing platter and with waiter service throughout, making it the perfect event to celebrate a belated Valentine’s Day.
For further information and tickets for the show, which cost £25 per pair for the matinee and £30 per pair for the evening performance, call 07768 735 905 or email BHC@denysedonnell.co.uk.
