Rayleigh writing group raising money for charity with short story anthology

A RAYLEIGH writing group is raising money for charity with an anthology of short stories.

The Rayleigh Library Writers’ Group has put together a collection called Essex Tales and Other Stories.

Group member Jane Scoggins explained that it was selling each copy for £4.50 to raise funds for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust.

Last time the group raised around £2,000, which they handed over in a special presentation at the library.

Jane said the group was also looking for extra members – two of their current members finished in the top three in the Yellow Advertiser’s ghost story competition last year.

The group meets once a month at Rayleigh Library - anyone interested in purchasing a copy of the anthology or becoming a member should contact Jane on 01268 785427 or Richard Banks on 01268 745384.
