Billericay Town Ladies 0-1 AFC Sudbury
By Brian Jeeves
BILLERICAY Town Ladies manager, Kim Coster, was frustrated with her side after the passed up several chances before slipping to an Eastern Regional Women’s Premier Division defeat at the hands of AFC Sudbury at New Lodge.
Speaking to Yellow Sport after the match, Coster said: “This was the second successive week where we have not been clinical enough in front of goal. We are creating chances, which is positive, but to win games you have to score more than the opposition. We played better in the second half, and I felt we deserved more from the game.”
AFC Sudbury grabbed an early lead in the contest, while Lindsey Morgan was off target as Town rallied for an equaliser.
In gusty conditions, Billericay controlled much of the second period but was unable to find a way through a resolute visitors rearguard. Michelle Stoneman hit the bar, while several other opportunities went begging as Town disappointingly ended up with nothing from the match.
Billericay Town Ladies are next in Eastern Regional Women’s Premier Division action on Sunday, March 26 when Acle are the visitors to New Lodge (2pm)
