Basildon Dogs Trust seeks new home for Jack Russell Terrier 'Chip', named after teacup from Beauty and the Beast

DOGS Trust Basildon is seeking a new home for a Jack Russell Terrier named after a character in Beauty and the Beast.

The pooch has been named Chip, after the teapot whose mother Mrs Potts was played in the original Disney animation by Dame Angela Lansbury.

A charity spokesman said the four-year-old terrier was ’on a quest to break the spell and find his Mrs Potts in the form of a loving new owner’.

They said: “It’s a tale as old as time that a dog should have a loving home. That’s why Dogs Trust Basildon is appealing to local dog-lovers to be their guest and give their very own Chip the furry-tail ending he dreams of.”

Chip can live with teenagers over the age of 14 and be left along for one to four hours if built up to slowly, said the Wickford-based charity.

They added: “He would need to be the only pet in the home and would ideally love a home where he could walk in a quiet area so he can take in the scenery.”

Anybody interested in taking in Chip can call the charity on 0300 303 0292.
