RACE: Competition was keen.

YOUNGSTERS at a local school threw themselves into a pre-Olympic tournament.
Woodlands School pupils took part in 20 different sports, from gymnastics to tennis and running to swimming and track events, as well as learning about the Olympic Games during the week-long event.
The Hutton school aimed to educate and excite the children about the forthcoming Games as they met athlete, sprinter Charlie Dak from Team GB, and fencing Olympian Alex O’Connell.
‘Hutton Manor Olympics’ opening ceremony was marked by singing, dancing and the unveiling of the School House Flags, the result of a design competition.
Head of PE, Barbara Fitch, said: “Throughout the week the emphasis has been on everyone trying their best and having fun.
“We are hoping to echo the London Olympics by embracing friendship, sporting talent and sporting effort in the run up to the Olympics.”
