Police investigate pile of clothes found on beach
Thursday, 26 November 2009
POLICE are appealing for help from the public after distinctive clothing was left abandoned on a Thorpe Bay beach.
Concerns were raised on Wednesday, November 18, after members of the public found the pile of clothes.
The Coastguard alerted police who have since been checking the recovered items of clothing against reports of missing people in the county, but to no avail.
The clothing consists of large size, three-quarter length leopard print leggings, a large white M&S bra, a long dress of velvet-type material which is grey at the top and green and brown at the bottom, yellow flip-flops with a pink strap and pink flower and a beanie style hat with a peak.
Inspector Kevin Turner said: “It’s highly likely that these items ended up on the beach under completely innocent circumstances.
“However, in order to put our minds at ease, we’d really like to find out how these items came to be left unattended.”
If you can offer any further information, contact police on 0300 3334444.
