PANTO: Dame Dolly Jollybottom (Mark Siney) hits the shops with Muddles (James Campbell).

PANTO characters were out and about in Thurrock at the weekend.

Snow White, Muddles and Dame Dolly Jollybottom first visited Grays Shopping Centre’s Santa’s Grotto, which opens at 11am on Saturday.

They then went to Sainsbury’s in Chafford Hundred where Muddles helped pack some bags, Dame Dolly Jollybottom read out special offers over the loudspeaker and Snow White greeted shoppers.

The stars of this year’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Thameside Theatre then visited Partymanworld at Lakeside.

Panto publicist Andrea Ince said: “The cast were met by lots of children who were having a fantastic afternoon.

“Dame Dolly Jollybottom then decided it was time for some retail therapy and went to find a new handbag and shoes that she so desperately needs for the show.”

The panto runs for 62 performances at the Thameside Theatre, in Grays, from Friday, December 4 to Sunday, January 10.

It stars Catriana Sandison as Snow White, Mark Siney as Dame Dolly Jollybottom, James Campbell as Muddles and Steph Parry as Queen Morgana.

Tickets are selling fast, so book now to avoid disappointment and get the best seats in the house.

Tickets are available from the box office on 0845 300 5264 or online at www.thurrock.gov.uk/theatre
