Ludogorets 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Kane took hit Tottenham Hotspur goal haul to 200 on his 300th appearance as the Lilywhites got their UEFA Europa League Group J campaign back on track in Bulgaria.
It took the England skipper just thirteen minutes to reach the milestone – heading home a pinpoint flag-kick from Lucas Moura.
The roles were reversed soon after. This time Lucas finding the net in a move which heavily involved Gareth Bale. And although a spirited Ludogorets side pulled one back through Claudiu Keseru, Tottenham’s superiority was confirmed when Giovani Lo Celso added a third after substitute, Heung-Min Son, had teed him up.
Jose Mourinho was pretty satisfied with much of what he’d seen: “We started the game with ambition, which was different to what we did in Antwerp,” he explained.
“So a good attitude to start. We tried to kill the game in the first half.
“It was not possible with 2-0 because 2-0 the result is still open, but it was a strong start and performance with two good goals and hitting the post.
“We completely dominated and I don’t remember one single situation for them of danger. That made a difference because in Antwerp we gave an advantage to the opponent and then when they were good they were winning. They closed everything the way they could and we couldn’t react.”
Tottenham Hotspur now turn their attention back to the Premier League where they will face West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday, November 8 (Noon).
