Appeal after woman robbed in Wickford

Police are investigating after a woman was robbed while walking through a country park in Wickford.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was walking through Wick Country Park at about 3pm on October 10 when she was approached by two men who began shouting at her.

They ordered her to hand over any items of monetary value. Out of fear, the victim handed over a neckless and rings.

The pair then ran off towards Tresco Way.

The first man is described as about 18-years-old, of skinny build and was wearing a full red tracksuit and a beanie hat.

The second man is aged about 30, of medium build and was wearing a black hooded top.

PC Golding, who is leading the investigation, said: “These two men targeted a woman in a very public place, and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward and speak to our team.

“Our first suspect was wearing a full red tracksuit and therefore will have been quite noticeable, either to people in the park or indeed to people with dashcam or doorbell footage in the Tresco Way area.

“My priority is to track down these two men and put them before the courts as soon as possible.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information on it should submit a report online at or use the ‘Live Chat’ button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
