Hadleigh & Thundersley completed a perfect season, although Orsett & Thurrock made them work tirelessly for their seven-run Cook Division success.

Skipper Adam Dobson hit 77 off 62 balls, a knock which included thirteen 4s and one 6, as the home side posted 248/9 – Jack Churchyard raking 4/56, while Callum Owen and George Pavitt each took two wickets, keeping Orsett in the hunt.

Mark Pavitt’s superb 95 kept the game on a knife-edge as the visitors’ looked to spring a surprise – Kirk Laws (40) and Churchyard (39) assisting ramp up the pressure.

But Orsett was to finish just short as table-topper, Hadleigh, ended the campaign with nine wins from as many matches.
