With the inclement weather conditions claiming their first and third team fixtures, Eastwood’s second string and newly formed fourth team produced notable performances to see off South Woodham & Burnham 3rd and Rayleigh 7th in some style.

Ryan Creasey returned figures of three for 13, and Kavi Perera 2/27 as Eastwood restricted hosts South Woodham & Burnham to 160 for eight. Paul Green top-scored for the home side, finishing unbeaten on 64*.

The visitors reached their target with little over five overs to spare. Nirmal Patel contributed 45*, while Creasey performed equally as well with the bat, hitting 42 in a five-wicket victory.

Eastwood’s fourth team, containing several promising youngsters, produced a notable performance against a young Rayleigh side at Wickford Memorial Park. No one more so than Hasnain Zaor, who marked a memorable debut with a hat-trick in his first over in senior cricket.

Eastwood’s 4th team beat Rayleigh’s 7th by 105 runs

The Eastwood starlet finished with remarkable figures of six for 4 from his three-over spell as the home side were dismissed for just 25.

Earlier, Eastwood had posted 130 for nine. Alfie Jeeves grabbed some valuable batting practice with a quickfire 27*, while Lee Heath hit 22.

Another of the Belfairs Park clubs’ exciting youth players, William Hawkridge, chipped in with 19 as Eastwood won by 105 runs.
