A tough start for boss Watson as Blues head to Dartford

Dartford v Billericay Town – Vanarama National League South – Princes Park – Tuesday 7:45pm – Preview

Kevin Watson will finally get an opportunity to run the rule over Billericay Town following his appointment last week.

The former Colchester United midfielder, along with assistant Tristan Lewis, was due to oversee proceedings at Hampton & Richmond Borough at the weekend, with interim boss, Dan Brown remaining in the dugout. However, after COVID concerns scuppered that opportunity it remains to be seen if that will remain the case or whether the new management team will take a ‘hands-on’ approach for this evenings trip to Dartford.

Watson is looking to instil consistency into a group currently occupying seventeenth place in the Vanarama National League South table with just one win from their last five outings.

The new boss could hand a debut to former Yeovil Town goalkeeper, Harry Palmer, who became Watson’s first signing.

Host’s Dartford have struggled for rhythm themselves but remain title contenders. The Darts were beaten 2-1 at Braintree Town last time out. They currently sit in second place but have dropped points of late, winning just two of their last five.
