South Essex College’s Principal and Chief Executive, Angela O’Donoghue CBE, retired last week after leading the college for nearly 10 years.

Denise Brown, former Principal and Chief Executive of Stoke on Trent College, will now take over the reins of the largest college is Essex.

Angela’s successful tenure as CEO saw her achieve an Ofsted Good rating for the college in 2017 and recently secure a winning bid to create an Institute of Technology (IoT) in the South East of the country.

Angela said: “I have really enjoyed my time at South Essex College. The college is now in a very good position with high quality college buildings running along the Thames Estuary, good quality delivery and excellent relationships with a wide range of partners, particularly employers.”
