Leigh Town 0-0 Old Southendian Reserves
Dave Manley insisted the outcome was just about right after his Old Southendian Reserve side claimed a share of the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Division Two spoils against high-flying Leigh Town at Rectory Road.
Watertight defences were on top, ultimately leading to a goalless stalemate: “I think a draw was the fair result,” Manley told Yellow Sport.
“Both teams created a couple of good chances and had their moments in a very tight game. Nico Debouchet and Greg Milford went close for us, while George Dugdale had to be on his toes with a couple of cracking saves.
“But I thought both sides defended really well. It’s always a great battle with Leigh Town and this time was no exception.”
