Another Saxons pair commit their futures

FOLLOWING SWIFTLY off the back of news that Tom Reeman and Tom Ramsey had extended their stays at Southend Saxons, the club announced that both Jake O’Kill and Dan Forster-Knight have also put pen to paper, keeping them at Warners Bridge.

Director of Rugby, Josh Ward, is rapidly restoring the Seaside club to genuine promotion candidates, with results continuing to improve and a steady rise in attendances clear to see.

Again, the DOR was hugely enthusiastic about the commitment of a couple of his senior players. On O’Kill, Ward said: “JLo is a pivotal member of our squad, he’s a natural leader on and off the pitch and has made brilliant strides over the past 18 months.

He has been over-looked for the majority of his rugby career at the club, but his continued exposure to the Saxons environment has seen him flourish.

He’s another club man, like Reeman, who if you cut him, would bleed Brown and White, I am delighted he has decided to continue his playing career here.”

On Forster-Knight, Ward added: “DFK is a highly valued member of our group. His relentless energy and desire to improve is infectious, he’s grown a lot over the past 18 months and still has a lot to develop which for us is hugely exciting over the coming seasons. It’s great news for the club.”

And Forster-Knight suggested remaining with the Saxons was a fairly easy decision, sating: “I feel privileged to be involved in a club so rich in history going into our 150th year. I am excited about how far we’ve come in the last couple of seasons and what the future holds. We’ve finally started to stabilise and now looking to return into the leagues we know we can excel in.”
