Appeal after alleged assault in Wickford

Police are appealing for information after reports of an assault in Wickford earlier this week.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was approached on Rettendon View by a man in a black coupe-style car at around 3.15pm on Wednesday April 8.

The driver, described as being a white man and aged in his mid-to-late-20s, got out of the car and began shouting at the victim. He then assaulted the victim by kicking and headbutting him.

The driver of the car was around 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build. He had short brown hair and a brown moustache.

Police are also keen to speak to a cyclist who may have witnessed the assault, and stopped to speak to the victim shortly afterwards. This bicycle had a trailer attached.
