Appeal after alleged assault on man in Rayleigh

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man reported being assaulted by a group of people in Rayleigh yesterday, Sunday May 17.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at around 10pm when a man was knocked unconscious after getting into an altercation with up to six men.

The suspects had confronted the man before chasing him and attacking him in Grove Road.

The victim, who is aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has information and footage – CCTV, dash cam and mobile.
