Police are appealing for information after an attempted burglary in South Woodham Ferrers.

It was reported that three men, all wearing dark tracksuits, had knocked on the front door of a property in Hallowell Down around 8.45pm on Saturday April 3.

When the victim didn’t answer, the men forced entry into the garden at the rear of the property through a secure gate, before attempting to break into the address through the back door.

They were unable to gain entry and fled the scene along an alleyway at the back of the property.

A silver Vauxhall Vectra was seen leaving the area a short time later.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have CCTV, Ring doorbell or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to report it by calling 101 quoting crime reference 42/59097/21.

If you’d prefer to remain anonymous, you can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
