Police officers acted swiftly to rescue a trapped woman from a fire which was deliberately started on Canvey Island.
Officers responded to a call shortly before 11.30pm on Friday 20 October, reporting a fire had broken out in the area of Seaview Road.
The blaze took hold outside a bin shed and a woman was trapped inside.
PC Michael Tremeer and SC Lindsay Frend used fire extinguishers to fight some of the flames, allowing S/Sgt Johnathon Cuthbertson to move through the thick smoke to free the woman.
The fire is being treated as arson and police are appealing for information.
