Appeal after collision in Basildon

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a collision in Basildon last month.

Officers were notified of a collision in Long Riding, Basildon, shortly after 8pm on Saturday December 16.

It was reported that a vehicle that turned out of a side road was in collision with a teenage boy who was riding a scrambler bike.

The driver of the car, believed to be a white Ford Kuga, stopped and spoke to the boy. Then both parties left the scene.

It was subsequently discovered that the boy had sustained a serious leg injury which required hospital treatment.

In particular, officers are keen to identify the driver of the car and would ask that they get in contact.

They would also like anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and who may have captured dash cam footage of the incident to also contact them.
