Appeal after liquid squirted into motorist’s face on Canvey Island

Police are investigating following an incident on Canvey Island where a man had an unknown substance squirted into his face

The victim, a man in his 20s, had been in his vehicle at the zebra crossing near to Subway in Furtherwick Road at around 2.10pm on Sunday October 10 when he was approached by another man on foot.

When he wound down his front passenger window the liquid was squirted into his face, causing burns to his left eye and lips.

The attacker has been described to us as being of mixed race, between 20 and 30 years-old, around 6ft tall, of slim/muscular build with short black hair, and a short thick beard.

Anyone who saw anything, has any CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage is asked to come forward.
