Appeal after Post Office robbery in Basildon newsagent

Police are investigating a robbery at the Post Office inside Martin’s newsagent in Basildon.

A man threatened staff with a knife shortly before 5.10pm on Monday November 30 and stole a three-figure sum of cash and a large quantity of cigarettes.

The man is described as white, aged in his early 20s, slim, and had blue eyes. He wore black clothes, a black hooded coat and a balaclava.

He was carrying the knife in a brightly coloured bag.

Police are looking to trace customers who were in the shop at the time, and anyone who was in the Felmores End area.
