Appeal after serious collision in Chelmsford

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Howe Green, Chelmsford today (Tuesday April 2).

Officrs were called to reports of a collision between a white HGV with a red trailer and a black Nissan Navara at the junction of Old Southend Road and Southend Road at just before 1.30pm.

The passenger of the car has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are being treated as life-threatening.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested.

The road was not expected to reopen until after 7pm

Officers particularly want to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to police and who witnessed the moments leading up to the collision.
