Police are investigating an incident in which a man was threatened in Grays.

A man and a woman in a silver Lexus had gone to Lodge Lane at about 10.30pm on Sunday May 17 for a pre-arranged meeting.

When they arrived, a man got out of a white or silver car and got into the Lexus.

He threatened the man inside the Lexus with an imitation firearm and stole a quantity of cash from him.

The female driver attempted to drive off, but the Lexus collided with a house.

The suspect got out and left the scene in the other car, which is thought to have been driven by a second man. The victims were not seriously hurt.

The suspect is described as a black man, aged in his early 20s and about 5ft 6ins tall. He was wearing a white hoody.
It is being treating it as a targeted incident.
Officers are continuing to carry out patrols and enquiries, and are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area but has yet to come forward.
