Police are investigating a robbery in West Horndon where a woman and her dog were assaulted.

It was reported a man got into an address in Dunmow Gardens at around 3.10pm on February 11 and assaulted a woman in her 30s and her German Shephard.

He carried out a messy search inside before making off with a number of items including a three-figure sum of cash.

The man has been described to us as tall, slim, and white with tanned skin and wearing dark clothing.

He was also possibly carrying a backpack.
