Appeal following altercation at Leigh-on-Sea takeaway

Police are appealing for information about a large disturbance at a takeaway in Leigh-on-Sea which resulted in two workers suffering head injuries.

Officers were called at around 9.55pm yesterday, Sunday May 17, to reports that a group at Kebabs R Us in Elmsleigh Drive were involved in an altercation with staff.

It is claimed that up to five teenagers attended with two arming themselves with fence slates and a wooden post.

During the fracas, which ended in the street, one staff member was taken to hospital with a broken shoulder and a serious head injury and another suffered a head injury and a broken hand.

The suspects cycled off.

They are described as being aged in their late teens and early twenties and were wearing tracksuits.

One wore a black Adidas top and grey tracksuit bottoms and another wore black clothing and was of a slim build.

Police are appealing for information and dash cam and CCTV footage and would urge any witnesses to call Southend CID quoting crime reference 42/70244/20.
