Appeal following assault in Benfleet pub

Detectives investigating an assault in which a man sustained a serious facial injury when he was struck by a glass bottle, are asking for witnesses and footage.

Police were called shortly after 8.10pm on Saturday July 15 following reports of an assault at the Hoy and Helmet public house, in High Street, Benfleet.

The victim, a man, 20s, sustained a facial injury that required hospital treatment.

Officers continue their enquiries to establish the facts in the lead up to the assault and are asking for anyone who was at the venue or in the area at the time to contact them.
