Appeal following fatal collision in High Ongar

Police are appealing for any dashcam footage or information following a fatal collision near High Ongar yesterday.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Chelmsford Road, close to the junction with The Street, at about 5.35pm on Saturday April 13.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s, died at the scene.

The road remained closed in both directions for the evening.

The driver of the car, a 58-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and driving while unfit.
