Detectives investigating the stabbing of a teenager in Barking are appealing for witnesses and information.

Police received multiple calls at around 3pm on Friday August 26 to reports of a male stabbed outside a block of flats in Harts Lane, Barking.

A 17-year-old was treated at the scene for stab wounds to his shoulder and chest. He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

It is believed that following the stabbing, three male suspects left the scene in a blue Hyundai. All wore dark clothing.

Officers are keeping an open mind with regards any motive.

Det Sgt Dave Parish, East Area Command, said: “My officers are working hard to identify those responsible for this attack which took place in broad daylight and could easily have proved fatal.

“I would appeal to anyone with information which could assist the investigation to come forward.”

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 4540/26AUG22.
