Appeal for information after assault in Chelmsford

Police are appealing for witnesses or information regarding an assault in Chelmsford.

At around 12.30am on Sunday December 12, a man was assaulted by a group in Baddow Road at the taxi rank near the Nags Head, as he and his brother were getting into a cab.

The 25-year-old man required hospital treatment for a facial injury and sustained a bleed behind his eye.

Detective Constable James Cross, investigating, said, “The victim was assaulted by a group of four men after the victim reported accidentally bumping into them.

“It was a busy time in the city, lots of people would have been going home after a Saturday night out in Chelmsford and I would ask anyone who saw what happened to call us on 101 quoting crime report 42/289107/21.
