Appeal for witnesses after attack on female motorcyclist in Southend

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a car deliberately collided with a motorcyclist on Alton Gardens, Southend last night, Monday July 27.

Police were called at around 11.35pm to reports that a woman had been seriously injured after what has been described by witnesses as a blue car deliberately colliding with her, while she was on a motorcycle

Emergency services arrived and it was further reported that following the collision, two men got out of the vehicle and stabbed the woman in the arm with what is thought to be a screwdriver.

The men, who were said to be wearing masks, got back into the vehicle and drove off at speed.

The woman, who is aged in her late-teens, was treated for injuries which are not considered to be life-threatening.

Detectives are keeping an open mind as to the motive of the assault, but believe it could potentially have been a targeted attacked.

They are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or were in the area around this time and have dash cam or video doorbell footage.
