Appeal for witnesses after attempted sexual assault in Southend

Police are appealing for information after an attempted sexual assault in Southend.

The victim was in Tesco Express, in Southchurch Avenue, on Sunday January 3 at 3.15pm when she was followed by a man.

The man then made a number of offensive comments to her before attempting to touch her.

He was clean shaven, had cropped hair and is believed to be aged in his early to mid 20s.

He was also wearing a dark jacket with a fleece collar and a black face mask and spoke with an eastern European accent.

Police believe he may have been driving a black vehicle with a foreign number plate.
