Appeal for witnesses after car injures police officer then mounts pavement on Southend seafront

Police are asking anyone with dash cam footage or who witnessed a silver Audi failing to stop for police in Marine Parade, Southend, outside the Adventure Island mini golf course, to contact them.

At around 3:15pm on Sunday February 21 an officer on foot, directed a car to stop.

The vehicle was in collision with the officer, who sustained a minor hand injury, before crossing the carriageway, mounting the kerb and driving along the pavement.

Members of the public had to take evasive action.

The vehicle was found abandoned nearby and seized.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or anyone with dash cam footage quoting incident 780 of 21 February.
