Appeal for witnesses after collision in Southend leaves woman with life-threatening injuries

A woman has been seriously injured in a head-on collision between a Mercedes and a bicycle in Southend.

It occurred just before 2.20pm on Thursday June 17 in Southcurch Road.

Another three cars – two being stationary and one being driven behind the Mercedes – were also involved.

None of the drivers or passengers in these cars suffered serious injury, but the cyclist, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the lead-up to the incident or the incident itself, or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.
