Appeal for witnesses after moped collision in Southend

Police are appealing for witnesses or dash cam footage following a serious collision in Southend.

A man in his 20s, had been crossing Southchurch Boulevard towards Royal Artillery Way at around 1.25am on Sunday February 2 when he was in collision with a moped.

The man and the rider of the moped were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The rider has since been discharged from hospital, but the pedestrian remains in hospital where he is being treated for a fractured skull and broken leg.

Police need anyone who saw the collision or has dash cam or CCTV footage of it to come forward.

Officers are particularly interested to speak to anyone who saw the pedestrian or a red-coloured moped in the moments before the collision.
