Appeal to locate stolen dogs after burglary in Canvey

Police are appealing for the public’s help following a burglary in Canvey on Sunday where two dogs were stolen.

Officers were called to the address in The Weald yesterday afternoon (October 9) following reports of a residential burglary, where two French bulldogs had been stolen.

The suspects broke into the property via the back window before taking six-month old puppy Ralph and two-year-old Baby.

The burglary was reported shortly before 4:30pm and police quickly identified two suspects.

By 11pm, a 39-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Basildon were arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling.

The dogs are yet to be located.

DS Jenna McQueen said “Our team have acted quickly, gathering forensic evidence and CCTV footage, to identify those responsible. Our focus now is to reunite the dogs with their very worried owners.

“We are appealing for any one who may know the dogs whereabouts or have any further information to contact us and assist with our enquiries.”
