Appeal to witness following robbery in Chelmsford

Police want to speak to a woman they believe may be able to help their enquiries after a man was robbed near Chelmsford’s Central Park.

The robbery reportedly happened in an underpass at about 1.50pm on Tuesday November 14.

Two suspects approached the victim and threatened him with a knife before pushing him over and taking his phone.

A female witness intervened, followed the suspects as they left in the direction of Chelmsford train station, and managed to get the victim’s phone returned.

The two suspects are described as one black man and one of mixed ethnic background, both about 5ft 9in tall, about 25 years old, and both wearing black hoodies with the hoods up.

Police would now like to speak to this woman or any other witnesses.
