Armed police respond to incident in Leigh-on-Sea

Police received a call from a partner organisation shortly after 8am this morning who reported concerns relating to the welfare of a man in Leigh-on-Sea who was making threats.

Armed police officers from our Firearms Support Unit responded quickly and attended the area of Ronald Hill Grove. They were supported by colleagues from NPAS and local policing teams.

A thorough search of the area was conducted.

No threats to the wider public have been identified at this stage and this incident is not related to the local junior school or other businesses.

Armed police officers have now left the area and local policing teams are continuing enquiries.

A man has since been found safe and well.
