Arrest after incident in Rayleigh

A man has been arrested in connection with an incident where another man was injured with a knife in Rayleigh.

Police were called to reports of a fight involving two men in London Road at around 2.45pm yesterday (Saturday August 6).

The victim, a 19 year-old man, sustained injuries to his arm, hand, and chest.

A 20 year-old man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.

He has since been released on bail until September 2.

This incident took place in the middle of the day on a busy road and police believe there will be a significant number of people who will have seen what happened.
