Arsenal v Olympiacos – Emirates Stadium – UEFA Europa League Round of Thirty-Two Second-Leg – Thursday 7:45pm|
Arsenal v Olympiacos – Preview:
Mikel Arteta will be content with a similar performance to that of the first-leg when his Arsenal side takes on Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium at the last thirty-two stage of the UEAF Europa League.
The Gunners hold a single-goal advantage from the first-leg in Athens, thanks to Alexandre Lacazette’s strike nine minutes from time: “I was very pleased with the performance in general apart from the first ten minutes when we had some issues to control defensively in the final third in some situations and as well when we gave the ball away in difficult areas when we could progress our play and become dangerous,” Arteta explained.
“Apart from that, the team played with a lot of personality in a very difficult stadium against a good opponent with a great record in their own stadium.
“We managed to score and win which is a positive thing too.”
Arteta offered a progress report following two months in the Gunners hot-seat, adding: “A lot of things happen in two months in many different areas of the club.
“I think the team is progressing well – the club is in a better place – we are getting much more unity on the sections of the club, and as well, great energy back from the fans every time we play at the Emirates and away from the Emirates.”
