Attempted arson in Chelmsford

Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage following an incident in Chelmsford on Monday March 28.

They were notified by the fire brigade at around 10.30pm of an attempt to set fire to a vehicle and a property in Orange Tree Close.

The incident is being treated as attempted arson.

Detective Sergeant Daniel Jeffries said: “It was reported that two people on pedal bikes were seen in the vicinity immediately before the incident. We would like to identify them and would ask the community to help by reviewing their dashcams and doorbells to see if they have captured any footage that might help us.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone that was in the area at the time.”
