Back-to-back victories for Old Boys

Old Southendian v Galleywood – Essex Olympian League Premier Division – Garon Park – Report

Old Southendian 2-1 Galleywood

Old Southendian recorded their second successive Essex Olympian League Premier Division victory by edging out bottom club Galleywood in a hard-fought encounter at Garon Park.

Following on from last weekend’s 3-0 success over Shenfield AFC, Callum Ludlaim’s first-half brace proved sufficient for the Old Boys.

Boss, Altan Ali was delighted with the result, but insisted his side had made hard work of their victory: “Galleywood fought really hard. I’d like to see them stay up,” he told Yellow Sport.

“We should have won the game more comfortably, but most importantly, we got the result and moved up the league a little.

Indeed, the Old Boys’ 2-1 win lifted them into fourth place with five games left to play.
