Bank holiday weekend extravaganza on Southend Pier

Southend Pier is to stage a spectacular line-up of music for the upcoming Big Bank Holiday Weekend extravaganza from May 4-6.

The world’s longest pleasure pier is set to host a weekend filled with live music, DJs and vibrant festivities.

An impressive line-up of performers will be taking to the pier head stage including:

  • Old Time Sailors: Back by popular demand after their sneak preview show last weekend, this group will transport you back in time with their maritime-themed performances.
  • Silver Darlings: an all-female shanty crew from Southend.
  • Levent & Taylor: Essex-based duo will perform their original gypsy-jazz, Latin and world music.
  • The Dusty Peddlers: A local four-piece offering up some foot-stomping, country, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll good time music.
  • Valley of the Dolls DJs: an all-female DJ collective
  • Stewart H: Resident DJ at Essex-based Funky SX radio

Visitors can also head to the Offshore Restaurant at the pier head to enjoy a selection of artisan gin and rum cocktails, expertly mixed to complement the festival atmosphere.

Mark Harvey, executive director adults and communities at the council, said: “Don’t miss out on this great weekend of music, refreshments, and fun on our most treasured and historical icon.
