Baris Altintop Leaves Braintree to Join NIPL Champions Larne

Baris Altintop has departed National League new boys Braintree Town to sign for Northern Ireland Premier League club Larne – subject to international clearance.

Former Bury Town, King’s Lynn and Dartford defender Altintop, 23, arrives at the reigning Sports Direct Premiership Champions having captained the Iron to promotion via the play-offs last campaign and being named as part of the National League South team of the season.

Altintop spoke to www.larnefc.com following his arrival at Inver Road: “It was a great feeling to sign for the club.  I feel like I’m a leader and have tried to lead wherever I’ve been and my aim is to add to what we already have here.

“The club have obviously been doing really well and I’m looking forward to getting started with the lads properly.

“I’ve had two seasons at Braintree and I felt it was the right time to try something different.

“The boys and the manager have been excellent with me and everyone has been really welcoming.”
