A 50-YEAR-OLD man from Basildon has been arrested over a number of alleged offences, after he reportedly abused emergency workers following a car accident.
The man was taken to hospital after a collision on the M11 on Sunday, October 13.
He then allegedly abused hospital staff and assaulted a police officer.
He has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink and drugs, failing to provide a sample, careless driving, assaulting an emergency worker and causing alarm and distress.
Essex Police announced the arrest as part of an appeal for information.
Officers were called to the M11 at around 7.50pm yesterday after a collision between two vehicles on the southbound carriageway, between junctions eight and seven.
A police spokesman said: “We received information that a number of vehicles drove the wrong way after getting caught in traffic. We will be looking to take action against them.”
