Plans are moving forward to hold the Basildon Pride Festival and Parade on Saturday September 4.
The parade will set off from the old Toys R Us building at 11am, gliding its way through the heart of Basildon town centre, across Broadmayne and into Gloucester Park before reaching the festival site where two stages will provide entertainment along with fairground rides and attractions.
The Eastgate Centre stage is set in a big top and will feature acts from tribute to side splitting drag artists. Further acts will be announced over the coming weeks.
The free event, which will be subject to government COVID-19 guidance and restrictions is open to all.
