Leigh-On-Sea Cricket Club have announced their fourth signing ahead of the 2021 Hamro Essex League Division Two season, recruiting talented top-order batsman, Ollie Wagstaff from Premier Division Chelmsford.
Leigh has made no secret about their ambitions of competing at a higher level and the acquisition of the 29-year-old is another indicator that the Chalkwell Park outfit means business.
“Ollie is someone I’ve been speaking to over the last few months regarding coming to the club,” Leigh Cricket Chairman, Sean Elliott told Yellow Sport.
“It’s great news that he has decided to make the move. Like the other signings, he will add experience and quality after playing in a higher league.
“Ollie’s brothers, Matt and Jack, are already playing for the club. It was a great opportunity to bring him in. He is still at a good age, and we believe will be with us for some time to come, helping us move in the right direction and achieve what we want to achieve.”
